Cutting-edge electric vehicles from companies like Tesla, BMW, Kia and LDV will be on display at a business event in Bury on Wednesday 10 July.
The TfGM-hosted electric vehicle experience event will give businesses of all sizes the opportunity to test drive vehicles, and to talk about the benefits of switching company vehicles to electric.
Running from 9.30am to 2pm at the Bolholt Hotel in Walshaw Road, Bury, the event will also outline proposed updates to the GMEV network and cover of GM’s wider clean air plans. There will be examples of businesses that have made the electric switch.
The Energy Saving Trust will also be on hand, offering businesses fleet reviews and wider discussions about how to save carbon through fleets. Electric bikes will also be on view.
Councillor Alan Quinn, Bury Council’s cabinet member for the environment, said: “We’re keen to widen businesses’ knowledge of electric vehicles and assist in the transition from their current fleet to a new, cleaner way of driving.
“The event will also highlight how the expansion of the public network for charging can help support businesses looking to make the switch to electric.”
He added: “Air pollution is one of the biggest challenges we face, and one which kills 1,200 people a year in Greater Manchester. If we can lead the way in tackling this then hopefully it will encourage many more in the private sector to follow suit.”
This event is in partnership with Let’s Experience Electric, GM Chamber of Commerce, Bury Council and the Energy Saving Trust.
