Four people have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Prestwich.

Earlier today officers from GMP’s Bury Borough arrested two men, aged 28 and 23, on suspicion of attempted murder and two women, aged 30 and 20, on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

This is in relation to an incident that took place on Glebelands Road on Monday 27 November 2017.

Police were called at around 8:40pm to reports that a 49-year-old man had been shot after three masked men forced their way into a property on the street.

After attacking him with a shotgun, the three men then fled in the direction of Poppythorn Road.

The man remains in hospital receiving treatment for life changing injuries

Detective Inspector Jonathan Kelly of GMP’s Bury Borough said “We currently have four people in custody who are being questioned as we speak.

“We are over two weeks on from this truly shocking incident; however we continue to have a team of detectives working tirelessly on this investigation to bring those people responsible to justice.

“I would continue to appeal for anybody with information to please come forward and contact police.”
