Officers attended and discovered the body of a man and a woman, both in their 30’s.

A scene remains in place whilst detectives and forensic officers continue with their investigation.

A Home Office Post Mortem will be carried out today, Saturday 23 December 2017.

Detective Chief Inspector Terry Crompton, of GMP’s City of Manchester team, said: “My heart goes out to the families at what is undoubtedly an incredibly difficult time.

“We have specially trained officers supporting the families whilst our enquiries continue.

“Whilst we have launched a murder investigation, we aren’t looking for anyone in connection with these deaths but would still urge anyone with any information to come forward.”

Anyone with any information should call police on 101 quoting reference number 652 of 22/12/2017, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
