Police are appealing for the public’s help to identify two men wanted in connection with a robbery at an off-licence in Oldham.
Shortly after 5.30pm on Sunday 10 December police were called to the Beer and Wine Shop on Greenwood Street.
Two unknown men entered the shop and the first offender snatched the till containing a large amount of cash.
The second offender punched the lone shopkeeper in the face before grabbing a lottery stand full of scratch cards.
There was a struggle between the pair over the stand and the first offender managed to pull it from his grasp before they both made off in an unknown direction.
The first man is described as white. He had his hood up but his forehead could be seen. He was wearing all black clothing with a black scarf which was covering the lower part of his face.
The second man is also described as white, around 5ft 11in and with an average build. He was wearing all black clothing and had his face covered with a black scarf. He also had his hood up and was wearing a pair of gloves.
Detective Constable Zahir Hussain from GMP’s Oldham CID, said: “The shopkeeper was simply at work carrying out his job when he was targeted by these two offenders. Everyone has the right to be able to go to their workplace without the fear of attack.
“We would ask anyone who was near the shop or in the area to please get in touch with police and share any information you know.”
