At around 2.40pm on Monday 4 November 2017, police were called to reports of a robbery at a sandwich shop on Grand Central Square.
A man had entered the shop and taken a seat by the window, where he waited for a few minutes.
He then jumped onto a table and stepped onto the counter, threatening the staff behind the counter with a screwdriver.
The man demanded money and then emptied the till into a Subway bag, before turning right outside the shop and fleeing the scene.
Police have now released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with this incident.
Detective Constable Joel Massender of GMP’s Stockport borough, said: “The offender put everyone in the shop at risk when he threatened staff behind the till with a screwdriver.
“We have released an image of a man we wish to speak to and would ask anyone who recognises him, or who can help us identify who he is, to please get in touch.
“Similarly, if you were in the square around lunch time when this robbery took place, and saw anything that could help our enquiries, share this with police as soon as you can.”
